Traffic Disruptions Expected Due to Sporting Event

The Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB), a world-renowned trail running competition, will take place on August 29-September 1, 2023. This event attracts thousands of participants and spectators, leading to traffic disruptions in the surrounding areas.

Affected Areas and Road Closures

Saint-Gervais-les-Bains

Several roads will be closed in Saint-Gervais-les-Bains on August 30:

  • Route de Bellevue (D119) from 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM
  • Route de Bionnassay (D119) from 5:00 AM to 10:00 AM
  • Route de la Gruvaz (D119) from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM

Les Contamines-Montjoie

The following roads will be closed in Les Contamines-Montjoie on August 30:

  • Route du Val Montjoie (D902) from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Route de Nant-Borrant (D902) from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Passy

One road in Passy will be closed on August 30:

  • Route des Fiz (D1212) from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM

Alternative Routes

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes during the road closures. Local authorities recommend taking the A40 autoroute or the D1212 road through Chedde and Marignier.
