Karnataka Education Reforms: A Comprehensive Overview
The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) and CET CELL have announced significant revisions to the state's National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), Karnataka Common Entrance Test (CET), and Common Entrance Examination (CEE).
Exam Date Realignment
- NEET 2023 will be held on May 7, 2023.
- CET 2023 will take place from May 6 to May 11, 2023.
- CEE 2023 is scheduled for May 17, 2023.
Exam Pattern Modifications
The exam patterns for all three exams have undergone alterations:
- NEET: No significant changes announced yet.
- CET: Physics and Chemistry question paper durations reduced by 15 minutes each.
- CEE: The number of questions has been increased from 100 to 120, with a shorter duration of 3 hours.
Eligibility Criteria Updates
Eligibility criteria for CET have been revised:
- Karnataka Second PUC or equivalent qualification holders are now eligible to appear for CET.
- Candidates who have passed the National Open School (NOS) exam are also eligible.
Online Registration Process
All three exams will follow an online registration process:
- Registration for NEET 2023 opens on March 8, 2023.
- CET 2023 registration will commence on March 10, 2023.
- CEE 2023 registration will begin on March 15, 2023.
