Orlando Magic Trades 2023

Orlando Magic Part of Four-Team Trade

Mo Bamba Traded to Los Angeles Lakers

Multiple Player Movement in Final Hours Before Deadline

In a flurry of transactions leading up to the trade deadline, the Orlando Magic were involved in a four-team deal that sent center Mo Bamba to the Los Angeles Lakers. The move marks a significant shift in the Magic's roster as they continue to rebuild for the future.

As part of the trade, the Magic acquired a first-round pick from the Lakers, as well as a future second-round pick. In addition to Bamba, the Magic traded Patrick Beverley to the Minnesota Timberwolves and Bol Bol to the Detroit Pistons. The Lakers, meanwhile, added Bamba to bolster their frontcourt, while also sending Russell Westbrook to the Utah Jazz.

The trade deadline was a busy one for the Magic, who made several moves aimed at improving their long-term prospects. The team parted ways with several veterans, including Bamba, Beverley, and Bol, in order to clear cap space and acquire draft picks. The Magic now own all of their own draft picks for the next several years, giving them the flexibility to build a young, talented roster.
